Today, the Philadelphia Winn Chapter has over 240 members. Every member is encouraged to use her talents to further the objectives of the DAR, which include historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
William Day Chapter NSDAR – Duluth, GA
Suwanee Creek Chapter NSDAR – Suwanee, GA detailsThe Suwanee Creek Chapter was organized and chartered on October 8, 2011, with 13 Organizing Members. The Chapter is named after the Suwanee Creek that runs southwest of downtown Suwanee, Georgia. A large Indian village flourished along the banks of the Suwanee Creek hundreds of years prior to the establishment of the town of Suwanee in 1871. Suwanee Creek runs into the nearby Chattahoochee River, and it is believed that trails from many directions led to this old village.
Our Chapter meets on the 2nd Monday of every month from 6:30pm-8pm at the Suwanee First United Methodist Church. Our Chapter actively participates in local community activities in Suwanee, Sugar Hill, Buford, and across the State. Some of our activities include placing a historical marker where the Suwanee Town settlement was located, caring for 2 cemeteries in Sugar Hill, many Veteran activities, and working with local schools to support teachers and historic education programs.
